A few things i saw that shocked or irritated me during my time off:

-The Captain & Tenelle singing 'Love Will Keep Us Together' in a Target commercial.
-Kevin 'Silent Bob' Smith hawking Panasonic DVD player/recorders.
-VH1's continued fascination with things non-music related.
-VH1's continued failure to broadcast new material on a consistant basis (one can only watch 'I Love the Effin 80's' so many times in a given week).
-VH1-'nuff said.
-Sci-Fi's 'Creature Feature' Saturdays (one week Python, next week Rats, next week Sasquatch....ok, the last one is Half Creature) and having to have themed movies to go with them the entire day.
-A local car dealership pilfering Hank Williams Jr.'s 'All My Rowdy Friends' and rewriting it to suit their needs.
-Fran 'Irritating Voice' Drescher hawking Old Navy.

I had forgotten what it was like to have so many days off. Last time i took such a long vacation was the same time last year (the only difference between last year and this year was, this year i was looking forward to it whereas, last year i did it only because i needed to use up some vacation time. My boss was getting on my case saying, 'You gotta take your vacation time or you'll lose it.') By Monday, i was ready to get back to work, but because there was the holiday last week along with my birthday, i took an extra 2 days off.
For my b-day, i did the normal thing: went to the club. That night i drank more than i normally did (but still managed to walk out by closing time). Yes, i paid for it the next day, with a slight headache, but that's what happens when you have fun.
The bonus of the evening was that my dancer friend Kristen (who i mentioned in passing in a previous post a while back, and haven't seen in over a month) was working that night. I was surprised but pleasantly happy to see her (which i told her over and over again, as the night wore on and the beer continued to flow. Definately not one of my proud moments).
Friday i recuperated, and Saturday i was there again, seeing Kristen and another dancer friend, Audrey (she told me she works days now which is why i didn't see her Thursday. She gave me a CD of a set she picked up off the 'Net, and it wasn't too bad).
Sunday was another day of rest, and Monday was back to work at the hotel.
Anyway, that's what happened to me during my time off. I had planned to do some writing for the site then backdated when i got here, but procrastination and laziness took over. I do have some ideas for later posts and when the time comes i'll get around to it.

I'm baaaaaaaack!

Many thanks to the well wishers for my b-day. I'll talk about it later on.
