Have been doing a lot of extensive research (well, mostly staying abreast) on the Linux operating system. I toyed with it a few years ago on my trusty old laptop (AMD K-6 388, 64MB RAM) and liked it a lot. However, things have changed since then. The main kernel is going thru test and bug fixes in preparation for the 2.6 release, sometime either the end of the year or beginning of next. However, right now that doesn't do me one bit of good since my desktop (AMD XP 1800+) was stolen eariler this year, but i keep dreaming i will have another one again in the near future. My dream machine right now is an AMD XP 2700+ or faster, 2 180 GB hard drives (dual booting Windows and Linux...hey, gotta have my sets you know), GeForce4 Ti video card (no real reason to go get FX right now), CD burner, DVD drive, speakers, sound card, 19 inch monitor....
Sorry, drooling over here. Need to wipe off this keyboard.

Well, 3 weeks doing this and nobody has said anything yet. Hell, i'd take a 'this site sux' comment, and treat it as a compliment. :)

VH1 had started their little mini-series on the '200 Greatest Pop Culture Icons' last night. Of course, i'm here at work so i don't get to see it until they rerun it to death on the weekends (which they are very good at. 'I Love the 80's' has been rebroadcasted so many times now it could be considered a network). Well, I don't have to worry about that now, because MSN.com has posted a report on who is the No. 1 pop culture icon, along with a few other noteworthy people. Thank you very much MSN.com for ruining the whole experience for me.
NOTE: Understand, this show only started LAST NIGHT fer crying out loud! And no, i'm not going to link the story here and spoil it for everyone else who are just dying to see the whole thing. Don't want to spoil it.
Remember when you were a kid and you had the habit of shuffling your feet as you walked, and your parents told you 'Pick up your feet, you aren't an old person?' I remember those times well.
Now, i'm on foot for the most part (no car, but thankfully only about a mile from the afternoon job. Morning job is a hotel so i stay there), and since it's summer a lot of people wear sandles or flip-flops (so called because that's the sound they make as you walk. No strap around the ankles just a piece of cloth between the big and middle toe). Now, don't get me wrong, but these same adults who tell their kids to 'pick up their feet' wear these flip-flops and what are they doing? Shuffling their feet, because that's the only way to keep them on as you walk. It's so irritating to hear when a group of people walk by wearing these cursed shoes I want to scream 'Pick up your feet!'
STATUS: Home (late work)
This week i'm working late due to the fact my normal replacement is on vacation this week. Have to stay til midnight. Which makes it more difficult to wake up at 7am for the morning job. *sigh* the things i gotta do to....

Would you bury me when i'm gone,
Would you teach me when i'm here,
Just as soon as belong,
Then it's time i disappear.
-Chorus to Metallica 'I Disappear'
That's been running thru my head a lot lately. Many different things happening in my personal life, just want to scream. Ah, to be young once again, and leave to wherever my heart takes me.
STATUS: Home
Well, the weekend was uneventful in true typical form. Other than suffering thru 105 heat at work in the morning/afternoon my time was spent asleep or channel surfing. The hangout was busy with various things going on. Lot of decent sets this weekend that, of course, i am missing out on. *sigh* Guess i'm gonna have to give the G-man a call and get his ass in gear so's i can get over and pick up some more sets.
