Yesterday, for most of the day, i felt as if half of my brain went into a coma. All during both jobs i had a feeling of...partial disconnection, like i'm running at 14.4 kbps on a cable modem. Most of the cause was i had gone to the club after work Thur night, in hopes that Kristen would be there (haven't talked to her in a month). She was there and my heart smiled (mushy romantic stuff, i know). Had a few to drink as well.

Anyway, here i am at work again today (second job, replacing ANT, who is in Cali helping his ex move there). No 3 day weekend for me, and that's ok. I would probably go crazy if i didn't do some sort of work. Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend as well, and playing it safe.

As I was walking back to the hotel from the second job Monday night, a bad memory that was hidden deep within the inner recesses of my brain and long forgotten came to the forefront and started toying with me.
'Remember when THIS happened to you?'
Nothing I was doing at the time could have possibly triggered this memory. I'm just walking along when all of a sudden it appeared in my mind's eye. First it was a bit blurry, a passing thought maybe just to see if I was paying attention or not. I didn't flinch so it decided to take the agrresive approach and bust in the door, guns blazing. 'Hi, remember me?'
It was not one of those traumatic, life altering events that could change the course of your future if done differently (well, since it happened when i was around 14 it might have felt like it at the time). It was just a simple matter of some upper-classman trying to show his (psudeo) manliness by punching me in the face because i got in the lunch line before he did, then proceeded to get in front of me afterwards.
The rest of the walk back I was in between depressed and mad. Depressed, because I couldn't belive my mind would betray me like that (some things are better left forgotten), and mad, because I began plotting out ideas for which i could have gotten back at him (if i had thought of it when the event occured). Like some evil villian on a grade-Z movie spouting off, 'I SHALL HAVE MY REVENGE,' near the beginning, here i was, twenty-something years later, doing just that by getting the revenge i wanted, if only in my mind. (Insert evil laugh here)

My weekend was rather interesting to say the least. Saturday after i finished work at the hotel i went back to sleep for a while (after working 14-15 hours a day during the week, the weekends were made to catch up on any rest i missed). Around 5pm i was stirred out of my slumber by a clap of thunder. Not loud, but noticable. I thought to myself, ok it's going to rain. No big deal. About 2 minutes later another clap of thunder sounded, and this one was LOUD. Right after that i could hear the rain coming down, and i looked outside briefly. The rain was coming down HORIZONTALLY. The wind was whipping up rather hard. It didn't really register til i looked over to the mirror and saw it was rattling. Now i was starting to get concerned. First thought: Tornado. Now, i'm on the second floor of the building i'm in, at the southwest corner. Perfect place to be when a tornado comes. NOT.
Nobody was able to call me since the phone line was connected to my laptop, and nobody came up to warn me about anything serious coming our way, but i still jumped out of bed, grabbed whatever clothes i could put on, and started for the door. Well, being Mr. Dumbass, i stopped and turned on the TV to see what was being said about the weather.
Well, turned out it was nothing major (fortunately), but a lot of wind and rain (plus some small hail). After about 10 minutes it was over.
I called down to the front desk and the clerk there said she hid in the office when this blew through (no windows in there) and didn't want to answer the phone when all this was happening (the lobby has LOTS of windows).
I stepped outside and there were rocks all over from the roof of the hotel, the lawn furniture by the pool turned over, and a few of the trash can lids (along with some trash) out in the parking lot.

Sunday i was in pain. Not one of those dull throbbing in the background pain. This hurt. I have a wisdom tooth coming in sideways, and when i ate some chips Sat night, i must have aggrivated the gum area there. Well, this sucker hurt so much it was giving me an earache.
However, i survived. Today, it still hurts a little, but not as bad

This could get interesting if this person continues.

On my way to second job I walk aross the Wally-World parking lot. Recently they have erected these tall barriers (clearance 9 ft) at most all the entrances as a deterrant for all the big semi tractor-trailer trucks. There is just one problem. The entrances not blocked are the ones on either side and closest to the store, where most of the pedestrian traffic is. Seems to me, they would have been safer leaving at least one or two entrances free at the very back where they can pull in.
